ARMCHAIR FOR GALLERY OF ART IN GERMANY, STUTTGART 2014

The seat design for art gallery.  According to cooperation between Academy of fine Arts in Stuttgart (Staatliche the Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart) and Gallery of Art (Kunsthalle Göppingen) there was announced the contest „und wo sitzen sie?” for new seats for cafe in the renovating museum .

My idea was to create a seat that will give the user privacy and nice experience which was the possibility to „disappear” inside the chair. Using a pattern as a way to hide is a common way for camouflage in military solutions (dazzle painting) and that came as inspiration.

The grand re-openning took a place in november 2014 also as a beginning of exhibition of Marc Chagall’s work. The chairs are still beeing used in the gallery.
